Abed had eventually managed to pack one of the ratborg off into a smaller plexicage before Sherlock or anyone else got their scalpels into her. Her, yes, Abed had checked, although he didn't tend to think of the Borg - be they rats or more evolved creatures to start with - as sexual beings. It was still nicer than using 'it' for her.
The replicators were very good with giving him what he needed to feed her, although the lack of litter made dealing with what came out of her other end a pretty messy affair, for now. Still, he was managing, painstakingly so for now.
And right now he was taking her for a walk on the first level of the station, narrating it all to her in a quiet monotone as he headed for one of the observation decks. He set the cage down beside him and sat there, looking at the stars happily and, once in a while, munching on a chip. He'd managed to get a pack out of the replicator earlier, although he couldn't recognize the taste.
"It makes you feel tiny and insignificant, doesn't it," he told her, mustering a good dozen of typical male romcom actors for this one. He patted her cage reassuringly. "It's okay, Ratborg. I'm here."
