docking plot : post three

He did not think it likely; there was simply no logical reason for the station to have kept them for six weeks and forced them to adapt to their surroundings, only to deposit them somewhere else and abandon them.
Whatever Kirk's reply was, however, Spock did not get to hear it. Abruptly the world around them began to blur, the familiar glimmer of the transporter engaging around them. When his vision refocused, he was standing on a transporter pad in the Porta Ianualis, Captain Kirk beside him, a few of his fellow captives filling up the other spots. With wry matter-of-factness, Spock glanced at the Captain and said, "As I do not believe you would take kindly to a statement of the obvious, I will refrain from comment."
It took some time for the station to finish beaming everyone aboard, but Spock stayed in the Porta Ianualis for the entire time. Everyone who had beamed down returned wearing what they had been wearing at the time of their transport, carrying whatever they had been carrying. Some of them appeared hungover, some elated to find themselves back on board, some furious. Spock was not certain himself what he thought of their return; it was more data that needed analysis, which he would have to discuss with Sherlock and Mr. Isaacs at the nearest available opportunity.
Once the last group had beamed back, the transporters and their consoles went dark, and a loud tone like a clear ringing bell sounded throughout the station.
