"Everyone! Please give me your attention!" She waited a moment for conversation to settle and continued, "I have just been notified that the guest of honor is on his way! Please take your places and remember: do not be concerned when the lights go out! I have tested this and they will come back on!"
With that, the crowd dispersed into the sides of the room, some hiding more effectively than others. Lwaxana herself stood by a control panel not too near the door and toggled the lights off. And waited.
