PORT ROYAL DOCKING PLOT : POST 1

At the university, Halloween was second only to April Fools' Day for people playing pranks on each other, so I woke up on Halloween morning ready to be on my guard. I figured whatever the station had in mind for us (if anything) it wasn't likely to be something I'd find funny, and I wanted to be ready for it, whatever it was.

It hadn't occurred to me that what the station had in store for us wouldn't be something that occurred on board. I hadn't expected the station docking announcement to play, and I sure as hell hadn't expected the world to dissolve around me when I was halfway to the hub to see what was up. I'd never transported before-- it had always been my choice, before, and I'd never planned on going anywhere the other guy might make a mess if I could help it-- but I had just enough time to figure out what the lurching feeling in my stomach probably signified before the station walls vanished.

When I blinked away the sun glare I found myself staring out a window at a bustling city full of people dressed like they were definitely not from 2012. "Well, this is... interesting," I said, turning around to the roomful of Proserpinians who'd apparently been selected to join me on my little day trip.

[Halloween docking plot is open, and this is gathering post style. Tag in, get your character dressed for some 1700s style adventuring, and see the mod post for more info!]

"What is this ridiculous insistence on young women playing such a part," Lady Grantham wondered aloud. She was not in fact speaking to Amy, but pitching her voice so that anyone who wanted to make something of her statement was quite welcome to. She might have been a touch perturbed to have been snatched from the relative comforts of the station without her say so.

Amy turned, and sheathed her sword. "Well," she says, her voice pitched just as loud. "Could be that this young woman's always wanted to be a pirate, and now she can. Not so much wrong with that, now is there?" She smiled broadly, and sketched a neat bow, sweeping the hat from her head. "Amelia Pond, it's nice to meet you." Again, she almost said, although she hardly wanted to make anyone uncomfortable.

Violet eyed her. "Lady Grantham. We have met," she said shortly. The fact of the matter was that she had steered clear of the young woman since her death and reappearance. It wasn't natural and it deeply unsettled her more in a way than all the rest had. The girl should have been a ghost, but she was flesh and blood seemingly without any memory. It did not sit well and only Violet's strength of will allowed her to look at Amy with a straight face.

Amy's brows furrowed. "Well, I mean, we've not met. Just... future me and you have met. But it's nice to meet you - to have met you." She watched that Violet's eyes sort of looked her up and down, and she raised her eyebrows. "I mean, unless you don't particularly wish to meet me, I suppose."
