PORT ROYAL DOCKING PLOT : POST 1

At the university, Halloween was second only to April Fools' Day for people playing pranks on each other, so I woke up on Halloween morning ready to be on my guard. I figured whatever the station had in mind for us (if anything) it wasn't likely to be something I'd find funny, and I wanted to be ready for it, whatever it was.

It hadn't occurred to me that what the station had in store for us wouldn't be something that occurred on board. I hadn't expected the station docking announcement to play, and I sure as hell hadn't expected the world to dissolve around me when I was halfway to the hub to see what was up. I'd never transported before-- it had always been my choice, before, and I'd never planned on going anywhere the other guy might make a mess if I could help it-- but I had just enough time to figure out what the lurching feeling in my stomach probably signified before the station walls vanished.

When I blinked away the sun glare I found myself staring out a window at a bustling city full of people dressed like they were definitely not from 2012. "Well, this is... interesting," I said, turning around to the roomful of Proserpinians who'd apparently been selected to join me on my little day trip.

[Halloween docking plot is open, and this is gathering post style. Tag in, get your character dressed for some 1700s style adventuring, and see the mod post for more info!]

She catches his wrist, hissing low words. "Klaus. There's people here," she said lowly, insistantly. Her eyes are searching his, and it's clear that she means that they shouldn't do whatever it is that he was doing, because- Hello, Bruce was like her older brother. And, honestly, she prayed that he wasn't paying attention, and glanced at him.

Nope, he was trying to figure out buttons on his jacket. Thank god. "We could lie," she said, and then blinked, like 'fiancee' wasn't a lie already. "I- I mean, we could lie more. Just go for broke. If you- I mean, if you really felt like it?" Caroline was not going to be the first person who would propose that they lie by saying they were married, thanks. She wasn't exactly that eager, because-- well. Hello, awkwardtown.

There is nothing awkward about any of it to Klaus, whether it be the way he steps into her personal space and slips a hand around her waist so that his next step will force her to step back, or about pretending to be married. "I'll nick us a couple of rings on the way," he tells her, leaving his wrist in her hand as long as she wants it, while he takes them towards the back of the shop, and he's smiling with it, with her here, so beautiful and so flustered.

It's almost like a dance, that he steps forward and she steps back, and it continues while she tries to find words to protest even though she doesn't know exactly what he has in mind. The racks are thick with dust and piled-high fabrics, and even though there's the odd person between them as they move back, there's less. She opens her mouth when he talks about stealing rings, and tries to find something to say, but comes out with, "What do you have in mind?" She means for this, now, and that smile's pretty telling, but her brows are high on her forehead and she's clearing her throat because she's not really made to be a rulebreaker and this feels pretty much like it's made of rulebreaking.

She's still holding his wrist without even thinking about it, until she lets him go at the last second, her voice lowering. 'There's still, like, a million people in here," she murmurs, and it's all too clear that she means that they should behave themselves.

"I suppose you'll have to try very hard to be quiet, then," Klaus tells her, before he kisses her, both hands on her waist now, then one of them is sliding up the stiff front of the corset, and he turns his wrist so he can brush the back of his fingers over the swell of her breasts. There's no one back here, and he can put her back to a piece of wall, half hidden behind a rack of cloaks, and they're off the station and she's gorgeous with it.

Caroline makes a noise while she leans up into the kiss, a second before she realises what, exactly, she's doing and where, exactly, they are. It does take that second, but then she pulls back, and she's caught his wrist again. "Klaus, we can't just-" She's still red, and yeah, a little scandalized. "There's people, somebody could walk back here any time." And she's staring up at him, and maybe she just doesn't think like him, but all she can think of is if somebody took the same dozen steps that they did, to just see what's back here.

"It's not like we don't have time, right?" She sucks on her lips for a second, biting the bottom one with a frown. "I mean," she whispers, "It's not like I can leave until the sun goes down anyhow."

"Caroline, love," he tells her, and his free hand is cupping the side of her face, thumb brushing her bottom lip again, fingers curling slightly to scratch gently at her scalp, before he slides his hand down over her throat. "I really ought to fix your corset. Now." A gentle, soft, lingering kiss. "Don't you think so?"

He sounds like he's making a perfectly innocent suggestion, even if the look in his eyes belies it, and nobody is going to see anything they shouldn't, half hidden that they are behind the cloaks, and with Klaus in front of Caroline. She's hidden from view, even if he isn't, and really he can't think of anything hotter right now than her having to strive not to make a sound.

"We're off the station," he adds, like that's the best reason to let him have his way with her, fingers stroking over her neck and down to the swell of her breasts, "who knows when it'll beam us back. Carpe diem, Caroline. You're breathtaking already," he adds, and yes, he suspects that she will be even more so after he has in fact had his way.
