PORT ROYAL DOCKING PLOT : POST 1

At the university, Halloween was second only to April Fools' Day for people playing pranks on each other, so I woke up on Halloween morning ready to be on my guard. I figured whatever the station had in mind for us (if anything) it wasn't likely to be something I'd find funny, and I wanted to be ready for it, whatever it was.

It hadn't occurred to me that what the station had in store for us wouldn't be something that occurred on board. I hadn't expected the station docking announcement to play, and I sure as hell hadn't expected the world to dissolve around me when I was halfway to the hub to see what was up. I'd never transported before-- it had always been my choice, before, and I'd never planned on going anywhere the other guy might make a mess if I could help it-- but I had just enough time to figure out what the lurching feeling in my stomach probably signified before the station walls vanished.

When I blinked away the sun glare I found myself staring out a window at a bustling city full of people dressed like they were definitely not from 2012. "Well, this is... interesting," I said, turning around to the roomful of Proserpinians who'd apparently been selected to join me on my little day trip.

[Halloween docking plot is open, and this is gathering post style. Tag in, get your character dressed for some 1700s style adventuring, and see the mod post for more info!]

"Pants?" Sansa raised her eyebrows. "I mean, I suppose so - getting dressed should be easy enough, it looks like they have a decent section of appropriate clothing." It was a little more complicated than she was used too, but still - she moved past Kate and found a shift and a corset, underthings - and balked only at picking out a dress, because she did not know what would be the best choice.

"Do... you have an idea? I mean, I know you said I would know it better than you, but..." And she trailed off, looking at the rack of four dresses in front of her.

"I think we're looking at palm trees so lighter is better?" None of the dresses look light, exactly, but Kate pulls out a light blue one that seems less bulky and simpler than the others. "What do you think?" Then she went to another closet and pulled out a linen shirt and pair of dark pants. Kate nodded to the corner of the room where a curtain has been hung to give some privacy. "Alright, let's get changed."

"Palm trees?" Sansa moved to change, looking over her shoulder at Kate even as she took off her nightgown, moving to pull on the shift and the corset. "Are those the trees outside? We don't have those sorts of trees where I'm from, but I'm from the North, so it's quite a bit colder than... I don't know. This," she said, pulling on the laces, and then looking back over her shoulder. "Can you pull these tight for me?"

"Yeah, they're tropical trees. Gotham doesn't have them either." This place probably got more sunlight in a day than Gotham saw in a month. She looked out to the window again while Sansa dressed then turned and began doing up her laces. "Sure."

This wasn't the first time she'd laced up someone's corset. There were various burlesque events through the years, not to mention corsets in more intimate settings. First one that was actually authentic though. And one that had clothes go over it. "You're all set," Kate said after tying it up neatly. "Now the dress?"
