Planetside: Dolios - Nighttime

Night in the port city of Dolios bloomed with light and music. Every bar, cafe, and dance hall had its doors flung open on the warm night, spilling sound and people alike out onto the sidewalks and streets. Like other tourist cities, night life in Dolios went to all hours as people competed to spend their money and mingle in the warm weather. It was a perfect place to get lost until dawn.

Andras wasn't in that much of a hurry, but he had picked up the pace a little on his way to the bar. The location of their near-collision was strange; though he did know what she did, he didn't think her the kind to do it in dark alleys. She looked very well, though, and Andras safely assumed nothing too terrible had happened.

"Dolios Water," he confessed. "My guilty pleasure. I was on my way to that pub. Will you accompany me?"

"I don't normally indulge in spirits, but Dolios Water is very much like vodka and I've decided I haven't had a taste of that in too long," Andras continued. A beat. "I trust whoever was left in the alley will be all right? Or should we call an ambulance?"

"Entirely my fault," Klaus assured her with a quirk of his lips. She was a very pretty one, after all. "Let me buy you a drink, so you'll forgive me?"

His accent sounded like an Earth English one, for all that it was not, an he offered her his arm, still smiling slightly.

"You don't know the half of it, lamb," Pullo told her, once he had adjusted to the shock of almost having trampled her. It wasn't just the thirst for booze - though there was that - but the desire for something different from the everyday sameness of the ship and its crew. He loved 'em, don't get him wrong, but there was only so much staring at the same faces you could do day in and out without going stir crazy. "I just got off shift and I'm parched."

Caroline could smell the blood on Pam - even if she was clean, even if she'd been entirely careful, she could still smell it, and it made her suck in her breath, made her stop in her tracks. "You could say that," she said lowly, clearing her throat. They'd talked about it, before - that Caroline tried not to feed on fresh blood because she was worried she'd want it too much, but the smell of it....

She had to swallow thickly. "Guessing you're not particularly thirsty?" She raised her brows as she asked the question, and while she didn't judge, that didn't mean that she wasn't just a bit jealous - even though she could totally do the same thing that Pam had done.

Andras liked to stretch his legs at night. He loved the smells of the evening - good food, wine and candles. It was the perfect time to just walk around and get lost a bit, to just go where his feet took him. It didn't matter where he ended up; there was always something interesting there.

His feet (and yes, his nose) took him to the port, where small restaurants served what they had caught in the bay during the day. A lonely fisherman had not yet caught the fish he had meant to catch and was still trying. Andras got to talking to him, and was invited to have a try. Before throwing the fishing rod he looked back to see if anyone was there. "Try not to laugh," he said, good-naturedly.

Jackson liked the bar he had found by the docks, not one of the classy joints meant for tourists, but one intended for the dock workers and cargo crew. He felt much more at ease there than in the posher places most of the Persephone crew would hit, and he figured he was much more likely to find word of his kind of gambling circle here, too. He wasn't made for the black tie sort.

As it was, he'd just wandered outside of the hole in the walls to have a cigarette, and he was leaning against the wall and thinking of exactly how mad his wife might be if he only got back to the ship in the morning, when somebody stopped by his side, and he glanced at them with a small smile. "Not a bad night for it, huh?"
